Mass Attendance and Dispensation
Dear Parishioners
While we never cancel Masses or Confessions at St. Charles Parish due to inclement weather, please exercise great prudence in determining whether or not you are able safely to attend Mass here this weekend.
Please note also that Bishop Burbidge has released this statement: "Due to the impending winter storm, which is predicted to be severe, and noting that the Governor of Virginia has declared a state of emergency beginning tomorrow, if it is not possible for parishioners to attend Mass due to road and travel conditions that jeopardize safety, they are dispensed from the obligation to attend Mass on Sunday, January 25.”
Let us all pray for the safety of everyone affected by the storm, including especially those working in snow removal, utilities, and first responders.
May God bless you,
Fr. Don Planty
Pastor
