Dear Friends, here’s what’s up this week:
WELCOME NEW RECTORY RESIDENTS
Seminarian Nick Young just finished his first year of college seminary at St. John Paul II seminary in Washington. He will be working at the National Basilica Shrine of the Immaculate Conception and living at St. Charles until he returns to the seminary in August.
(new) Seminarian Mike Sampson will be attending Mount St. Mary’s Seminary in Emmitsburg, MD. He will continue to work at the Social Security Administration and live at St. Charles until he enters the seminary in August.
Father Edward Horkan will be moving in during the last week in June (assignment effective June 27). He will be studying Canon Law at Catholic University while residing (and helping out) at St. Charles.
Fr. Dyer and I are looking forward to having them around!
SUMMERTIME, AND THE LIVING IS EASY…
Summer often means a slower pace of life, more recreation and vacation–but be sure not to take a vacation from your vocation to be saint! Encountering the Lord through daily prayer, Sunday Mass and frequent Confession should always remain the bases of our spiritual lives. When traveling, find local Mass and Confession times using this convenient website: masstimes.org
Enjoy the Summer, and remember to put Jesus first!
The first two Saturdays in June mean ordinations for our diocese: this Saturday, June 1, three men were ordained transitional deacons (for a year before priesthood), and next Saturday, June 8, four men will be ordained priests. Please keep all our seminarians and, especially, those to be ordained, in your prayers.
I remain, your servant in Christ Jesus,
