Padre's Page - February 4

Dear Friends, here’s what’s up this week:

CATHOLIC SCHOOLS WEEK

Catholic Schools Week concludes this weekend–and we are proud to celebrate the extraordinary success of our St. Charles Early Childhood Development Center.  In the last four years we have transitioned from an under-enrolled elementary school requiring an over $450,000 subsidy from the parish to a competitive, financially self-supporting preschool with a waiting list!  This is due in large part to the excellent leadership of Amy Fry, our preschool director.  It is a blessing to be able to offer a first-rate Christ-centered play-based preschool for our families with young children.

BISHOP’S LENTEN APPEAL

The BLA funds programs such as seminarian formation, Catholic Charities, crisis pregnancy assistance, youth ministry, and much more….  Our parish goal is 100% of our generous parishioners participating, so please make a commitment:  every pledge counts!  If you haven’t yet made a pledge, you may do so by picking up a pledge form from our parish office or entrances, or pledge online at our parish website or on the diocesan website:  arlingtondiocese.org.

ADULT FAITH FORMATION–TALK SERIES:  THE HUMAN PERSON

Our regular faith formation series for all adults continues this Monday, February 5, at 8:00 P.M. with the first of a series of talks by Prof. Mary Stanford on the theology of the body.  For the full schedule see our parish website under “News & Events.”

FR. BARTLETT, RESIDENT PRIEST

Fr. Bartlett has been granted a leave of absence by our bishop.  Please keep him and all our priests always in your prayers.
