Dear Friends, here’s what’s up this week:
- I’m happy to announce that we have hired George Reyes to be our new Maintenance Director. George is not only a skilled maintenance professional, but has been a faithful parishioner and volunteer for over 30 years! He is married to Teresa Reyes, our Director of Hispanic Ministry, and leads the choir at our Spanish Mass. Welcome aboard as an employee, George!
- At the same time, I’m sad to announce the departure of Jim Schuster, our Director of Evangelization and Adult Faith Formation, who is leaving to pursue other opportunities out West. Jim has done an excellent job helping us to coordinate all our apostolates with a view to evangelization, and we will miss him! We wish him and his wife, Jonna, well in their new life: Godspeed! Of course, that means that we are seeking someone to fill Jim’s position, which is advertised on Catholicjobs.com.
- We also bid a fond farewell to maintenance assistant Sean Nypaver, who has happily gone to pursue studies for the priesthood as a seminarian for our diocese! Please keep him and all our seminarians in your prayers.
SUMMERTIME, AND THE LIVING IS EASY…
Summer often means a slower pace of life, more recreation and vacation–but be sure not to take a vacation from your vocation to be saint! Encountering the Lord through daily prayer, at Sunday Mass and in frequent Confession should always remain the bases of our spiritual lives. When traveling, find local Mass and Confession times using this convenient website: masstimes.org
Enjoy the Summer, and remember to put Jesus first!
