Dear Friends, here’s what’s up this week:
RELIGIOUS FREEDOM WEEK
Each year during this week the Church throughout the United States highlights the importance of defending religious freedom. There is a wealth of information available here: www.arlingtondiocese.org/religiousfreedomweek2018/
This October our parish will undertake a mission trip to Blessed Sacrament parish in Piura, Peru, with Fr. Dyer leading as spiritual director. Missionaries will have the opportunity to serve the people of parish in a variety of ways. The registration deadline is June 30th–this week! Please see our website or contact the parish office for more information.
SUMMERTIME, AND THE LIVING IS EASY…
Summer often means a slower pace of life, more recreation and vacation–but be sure not to take a vacation from your vocation to be saint! Encountering the Lord through daily prayer, Sunday Mass and frequent Confession should always remain the bases of our spiritual lives. When traveling, find local Mass and Confession times using this convenient website: masstimes.org
Enjoy the Summer, and remember to put Jesus first!
Please pray for our more than 30 high school teens and all our adult volunteers who will spend this week at the annual diocesan Work Camp, joining 1,000 people in renovating the homes of the needy in the Fredericksburg area. You can also support their good works through financial donations–and consider joining our Work Camp crew next year!...
I’ll be away on my annual retreat this week: please keep me especially in your prayers, as I will you.
I remain, your servant in Christ Jesus,
