Padre's Page - June 17

Dear Friends, here’s what’s up this week:

MISSION TRIP

This October our parish will undertake a mission trip to Blessed Sacrament parish in Piura, Peru, with Fr. Dyer leading as spiritual director.  Missionaries will have the opportunity to serve the people of parish in a variety of ways.  The registration deadline is June 30th:  Please see our website or contact the parish office for more information.

SUMMERTIME, AND THE LIVING IS EASY…

Summer often means a slower pace of life, more recreation and vacation–but be sure not to take a vacation from your vocation to be saint!  Encountering the Lord through daily prayer, Sunday Mass and frequent Confession should always remain the bases of our spiritual lives.  When traveling, find local Mass and Confession times using this convenient website:  masstimes.org
Enjoy the Summer, and remember to put Jesus first!

CONGRATULATIONS…

  • to our weekend receptionist, Jackie Parada, who married active parishioner Ismael Lopez this weekend:  may God grant them a long and happy life together!
  • to Fr. J.D. Jaffe, who has resided and helped out at St. Charles while serving as diocesan Director of Vocations, but who in September will be the new Pastor at Christ the Redeemer Parish in Sterling!
  • to all our fathers on this Father’s Day:  may God the Father, who provides for us and who protects us in his mercy, serve as an example and inspiration for our fathers, and may he bless them abundantly!

I remain, your servant in Christ Jesus,

Father Don
