February 17, 2010 is Ash Wednesday, the beginning of Lent. A great way to celebrate Lent is to find some time each week and reflect on the Sunday Mass Scripture readings. The readings for Lent are full of opportunites to reflect on our own walk with the Lord.
Sunday Readings, Cycle C, for Lent
(MS Word format)Note: Since these reflections are based on the Sunday Scripture readings, you will need to have access to a bible or another resource that contains the Sunday Mass readings. The US Catholic Bishops have all the Mass readings for each day online and you can find them at www.usccb.org and click on "readings". The links are provided below as well.
- INDIVIDUALS - anyone can use these materials in their own journey through Lent. Set aside some time each week to relax, reflect, and pray. You may also want to reflect with a roomate, co-worker, friend, or create your own small group.
- FAMILIES - can use these resources each week as they reflect on the Scriptures. There are specific ideas for familes at the end of each session.
- SMALL FAITH GROUPS - These materials will be used for the small faith groups that are being organized for Lent within the parish. The listing of the most current groups are found below.
All are welcome. Most groups will be 6-10 people. Groups will meet beginning the week of February 14 for 6 weeks. Registration will be assigned on a first come-first served basis. PLEASE only sign up for a group if you are able to make the commitment.
To register: Call or email the facilitator directly of the group you wish to attend with your name, mailing address, email, day & eve. phone numbers..
