So what are Lent Small Groups?
Lent small groups are a great way to stay centered during Lent as well as meeting some new faces here at the parish.
When and where to they meet?
Most groups will meet for about an hour and a half each week for 6 weeks beginning the week of Monday, February 4, 2008 and going through the week of Monday, March 10, 2008. Groups can meet in homes or at the parish (a room will be reserved for you). See small group schedule.
What is the topic?
Most groups meet to reflect on the upcoming Sunday Scriptures. So it is some Scripture sharing, some faith sharing. Groups are casual and welcoming. All materials will be provided.
I have never been a leader of a group before, how do I know if I can do it?
Yes. The beauty of these groups is that the main responsibility of the facilitator is to take the initial registrations (usually via email). Each week the facilitator starts the group going and keeps thing on track by watching the time, etc. Leading the group can be shared by many in the group if desired and if the named facilitator cannot attend on a particular week, another volunteer can step in.
Will training be provided?
Yes, there are 2 opportunities for training. Please plan to attend one of these:
- Sunday, January 27, 2008 from 12:30-1:30 PM in the Parish Library OR
- Monday, January 28 from 7-8 PM in the Parish Library
