SABBATH

A recent survey says the average American carries around a debt
Of 40 hours of sleep we have deprived ourselves.
Too busy to rest.
 
God rested.
 
Close our staring eyes
Blinded by computers and all-encompassing light
That we, like John, may find you whom we flee,
In the fertile dark.
