Justice: Parishioner Reflections on the
Jubilee
When I am weak or hurried, help me to slow down...
"What does the Lord require of you but to do justice, to love kindness, and to walk humbly with your God." (Micah 6: 6-8)
It seems very easy to live my life through justice, kindness and humility. However, so many days I allow my hectic schedule to rule my life. In my hurriedness, I end up clutching tightly to the hours in the day and to my wallet - forgetting about the bountiful rewards from giving of my time or from making a monetary donation. I know that giving of myself can be something as simple as helping supply food for the St. Charles' food pantry. Yet, how many weeks out of the year do I forget to buy something when I am at the grocery store, or forget to bring it with me to church? I feel so much wealthier, worthier and more powerful when I remember and give of myself.
Prayer:
Heavenly Father, thank you for giving me the ability to be kind and gentle, to give of myself to those in need, and to praise your name through my thoughts and actions. When I am weak or hurried, help me to slow down and take the time to walk in your ways.
