Justice: Parishioner Reflections on the
Jubilee
Our Lord has anointed us to bring good news to the suffering...
"Morning by morning God wakens me and opens my understanding to His will." (Isaiah 61)
As followers of Christ, let us make our world a just world. We need to begin in our homes, schools, workplaces and communities. Be aware of the social injustice that surrounds us and try to see the Lord's will in a loved one who is suffering from an illness, a neighbor who is unemployed, a co-worker who has been discriminated against, or a friend stricken with grief over the loss of a loved one. Our Lord has anointed us to bring good news to the suffering and afflicted. He has sent us to comfort the broken-hearted, announce liberty to the captives, and open the eyes of the blind. He has sent us to tell those who have mourned that the time of God's favor to them has come. Go forth and do the work of Our Lord.
Prayer:
God, open my eyes, heart and mind to the social injustice that surrounds me and give me the guidance and words of wisdom to do your will.
