Freedom: Parishioner Reflections
on the Jubilee
...we become liberated through the positive acts of giving and caring...
Each of us is searching for freedom in our own lives. But too often worries, problems, anger and self-centeredness weigh us down. Freedom is being released from what we consider the burdens in life. With the help of almighty God, we can transform those burdens into acts of giving, caring, and contributing to the needs of the less fortunate in accordance with our means. By participating in new found acts of service, one soon realizes that the burdens of the past can be lifted and that, instead of being enslaved by them, we become liberated through the positive acts of giving and caring.
Prayer:
Dear God, please help us to understand the needs of others and to reach out to them with kindness and selflessness. These gifts of love will be reflected upon us in finding true freedom.
