Freedom: Parishioner Reflections
on the Jubilee
He calls us to a life of freedom...
Are you trapped in a job where there is no vision, no leadership, no plan, or no money? Is your place of employment a dead-end place where you can no longer grow your skills, or even grow as a person? Are your work and personal relationships grounded in Christ’s teachings? Think about what would be needed to affect change in your office or in your personal life. Can you be a disciple in your office? To your friends and family? Or, is it time to make changes? Christ wants each of us to be free of the baggage that keeps us from Him. He calls us to a life of freedom if we are but bold enough to follow him. Open your heart to His words and His plan for you, and He will provide the strength and courage for all your endeavors.
Last year, I resigned my job, taking the risk of freedom to live lean while I complete my Master’s degree, take more computer courses, and begin a career transition. I pray for courage to follow the road to freedom.
Prayer:
Dear Lord, give me courage to stand up for my convictions, to be the person you want me to be, and to know the peace and happiness that following Your road to freedom can bring. Amen.
