Children
of God’s Love (COGL) prayer group
(This ministry is now inactive due to lack of interest)
"But the hour is coming and is even
now here, when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth;
for that is the kind of worship the Father wants. God is spirit and those who
worship God must worship in spirit and truth."
John 4:23
The "Children of God's Love" prayer group meets weekly to praise the Lord, share
the Word of God, for intercessory prayer, and to cultivate a relationship with
Christ in the Holy Spirit.
Please join us most Thursday nights in the Chapel from 7:30 - 9:00 PM.
For further information, please contact Tim Russo.
The Bible teaches us to pray in the following the way:
- Pray to the Father in Spirit. John 4:23 (above)
- Pray in thanksgiving in the Name of Jesus.
And Whatever you do or say, do it in the Name of Jesus, the Lord, giving thanks to God the Father through him. Colossians 3:17
- Pray with each other.
For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them. Matthew 18:20
What does this mean:
- To pray in the Spirit we need to believe that Jesus came and died for our sins that we may have new life in Him. Hence like Him we need to die unto ourselves that we may be one in Spirit with the Father through Jesus.
Truly, I say to you, unless the grain of wheat falls to the earth and dies, it remains alone; but if it dies, it produces much fruit. John 12:24
Yet Jesus had said, and even cried out, "He who believes in me, believes not in me but in him who sent me. And he who sees me, sees him who sent me. I have come into the world as light, so that whoever believes in me may not remain in darkness." John 12:44
- The New Covenant in Jesus promises us that our prayers will be answered:
And Everything you ask in my name, I will do. So that the Father may be glorified in the Son. John 14:13.
We would like to pray for you. You may
submit your prayer requests to us and we will pray for them. We also invite
you to come on the first Thursdays of each month, and we will pray over you.
The Lord is near: do not be anxious about anything. In everything resort to
prayer and supplication together with thanksgiving and bring your requests before
God. Then the peace of God which surpasses all understanding, will keep your hearts
and minds in Christ Jesus. Finally, brothers and sisters, fill your minds with
whatever is truthful, holy, just, pure, lovely and noble. Be mindful of whatever
deserves praise and admiration. Philippians 4:6.
