1. How do I get a "headline" on the parish homepage?
The headlines come from two different sources.
- For parish events: The primary source is from the list of monthly highlights (as determined by the parish council and pastor), explained below in #2.
- For new webpages not related to a parish event: Noteworthy additions to the site (like newsletters or a survey) are mentioned at the discretion of the Web Team depending on the space available.
In some cases, breaking news will also appear on the homepage (such as last-minute cancellations or weather-related closings) or by request of the parish council president or pastor.
back to top2. How do I get my event added to the monthly list of highlighted events on the parish website?
Each month the parish council president and our pastor determine the list of highlighted events for the parish for the following month. If your event is already on the parish calendar then email council@stcharleschurch.org with your request to have the event added to the highlights, including a description of the event and why it should be highlighted.Generally a week or two before the end of the month, the proposed highlights for the following month will be posted on the parish council page for a last review by the council and staff. When the new month starts, the approved highlights are then added to the News sections of the website and will be incorporated into the homepage.

4. How come the complete list of monthly highlights doesn't appear on the home page at all times?
The complete list appears for the entire month at several other locations. The highlighted events are rotated through the homepage by the Web Team depending on the space available and the amount of notification required for the event. As events pass, they are removed from the homepage as well.
back to top5. Where else can I find "what's new" on the site?
The What's New section of the News page (Home > News & Events - What's New) lists all new pages and significant changes to the site, other than minor corrections or updates. It also lists the date of the addition and a link to it.back to top
