Adult Confirmation Program

Are you a practicing adult Catholic who is interested in preparing for the Sacrament of Confirmation?

Our 10-week session program will begin on Monday, March 16, 2009 and continue each Monday through May 18 (we will not meet on Memorial Day, May 25). Our meeting time is from 7:30 PM - 9 PM at St. Charles.

Confirmations will be celebrated by Bishop Paul Loverde of Arlington at the Arlington Cathedral on Saturday May 30 at 7:30pm or Sunday, May 31 at 2:30pm. You decide which ceremony you would like to attend.

Diocesan Policy is that each candidate for Confirmation will need to:

• Provide a copy of both sides of a NEW baptismal certificate (obtained from your church of baptism within the last 6 months)
• Provide papers explaining any name change since your baptism (marriage, adoption, etc.)
• If married, provide a copy of your Catholic marriage certificate. (If you were not married in the Catholic Church or need to discuss other circumstances, please contact Michelle Miller).
• Have a sponsor who is a practicing Catholic in good standing and at least 16 years old. (A parent may not be a sponsor but can "stand-in" for your sponsor at the ceremony if your sponsor is not local).
• You may begin the sessions while continuing to gather the required paperwork.
• This paperwork is all due to Michelle Miller by Friday, May 11 but the sooner you get it in, the earlier you can reserve your spot at the ceremony. (The Sunday service may fill up).
