How You Can Help With Oktoberfest

Oktoberfest is St. Charles School's annual Fall Festival. It is also the biggest fundraiser of the year. Oktoberfest will be held this year on Saturday, October 18, 2008 - Rain or Shine! There will be wonderful entertainment, carnival games with prizes, Krafthaus, face painting, with crafts for the little ones, cake walk, moon bounce and a Scary Haunted School House! We will even have a hairdresser this year! Sr. B's BBQ will be served during the day. At the end of the day we will all relax in the gym and enjoy a delicious Spaghetti Dinner and find out who will be the winner for the $500 raffle!

Yard Sale
Let's make this the biggest and best yet. Search through those boxes and find treasures to share. We will begin accepting items on Sunday, October 12 from 8 AM until 2 PM. There will be a collection point outside the school cafeteria. Please, no clothes.

Silent Auction
We are asking all parishioners to consider donating an item for this huge aspect of Oktoberfest. We are accepting items and services (we will be auctioning lunch with the new principal!) Let's think "outside the box" for this one! REMEMBER all donations are tax deductible! Please contact Melody Ballesteros at MBallesteros@acr.org or Darlene Montgomery at dmontgo2@gmu.edu.

Krafthaus & Bake Sale
Another way you can help is to donate craft items for our beautiful Krafthaus! Anything that is handmade (even if it is just one item) would be greatly appreciated to help lend variety to offerings at this seasonal "boutique". Please contact Margaret Leckey at magatom@ix.netcom.com. Bake Sale items of every kind - cookies, brownies, breads, pies, etc. are all welcome additions for the Oktoberfest Bake Sale. We will also need WHOLE cakes for our Cake Walk. Please bring your donations to the school kitchen on Friday, October 17 or early Saturday, October 18.

Raffle Tickets
You will be receiving a book of raffle tickets in the mail. Please support us in this important part of Oktoberfest. Directions will accompany the tickets. They will also be available through the school office.

Miscellaneous
The Sheriff's Department will be visiting and fingerprinting children. Please plan to stop by. We will also have a hair stylist for the day who will do washes, cuts and blowdrys!

Together Everyone Achieves More. That's the T.E.A.M. spirit! The success of Oktoberfest depends on a total TEAM effort. We would like to thank all of the parents and parishioners who helped last year and made it such a great success. We would love to have you come back and help us again this year. We will need volunteers for set-up on Friday and clean-up on Saturday. We also have a variety of volunteer opportunities all day Saturday.
