Giving Tree

The St. Charles Giving Tree supports those who are in need during the season of giving, including:

• Parishioners
• Borromeo Housing
• Low Income Families at Glebe/Key Elementary Schools
• Clients of Project Lazarus
• Hogar Hispano (Catholic Charities)
• Doorways for Women & Families
• Migration & Refugee Services(Arlington Diocese)

Please take a tag (or two) from the tree and help fulfill the wishes of those in need.  Many are only asking for warm clothing for their children and this year in addition to the gifts for the children, we would like to provide gift cards for the adults in the family so that they can purchase something for themselves. Feel free to take additional tags to include your friends, neighbors or office colleagues.  The more people we can get involved in the spirit of giving, the more families we will be able to assist.

Please attach the tags firmly on a wrapped or unwrapped gift and return to the church before DECEMBER 13, 2007. We will be collecting gifts after all Masses the weekends of Dec. 1-2 & 8-9, 2007. In addition, gifts can be dropped off at the Parish Office. We don’t want anyone to be disappointed, so if you take a tag, please return your gift by DECEMBER 13 – this is the last date we can accept presents. 

The Giving Tree also welcomes cash donations as well as gift cards in $25 denominations to

• TARGET
• WAL-MART
• MACYS
• GIANT
• HARRIS TEETER
• SAFEWAY

These can be dropped off at the Parish Office – marked “GIVING TREE”. 

Also remember that your contributions are tax deductible; if you would like a receipt, they will be available at the gift collection sites after Masses and also in the Parish Office.  THANK YOU. 

Every Christmas, St. Charles decorates a Christmas with tags describing items to benefit needy families. Parishioners select tag(s) and return the requested gifts before Christmas.

If your family, or other members of our community you know of, could be helped by receiving gifts from our Giving Tree Program, come and register.

Please make sure you bring an I.D. (driver's license, or non-driver's I.D. from DMV, Social Services ID, Military ID or Passport from any country).

This year our Giving Tree program will be working with several local organizations to provide gifts for children under 18. We will also be providing gifts to our parish families and to those who have received help thru Project Lazarus. We will NOT be taking walk-in registrations for our Giving Tree.

Registration: Sundays/Domingos, 2 PM Room/Cuarto 103 on October 14, 21, 28 & November 4, 2007
