On February 9, 2005, the Circle of Caring sponsored its annual Ash Wednesday luncheon for senior members of the St. Charles family. About 35 people participated in the tradition this year.

Following a light lunch, the kindergarten students from St. Charles school entertained the seniors with several songs that they have been learning. The students "signed" the songs with hand gestures as they sang.

Dan Marin, St. Charles' Social Justice minister gave a Lenten reflection, talking about how he first came to know the true meaning of the sacrifices we are urged to make during Lent.

Senior teas or luncheons are typically held on Holy Days after Mass. They are arranged and provided by volunteers under the leadership of Norma Jimeno Canales.
