Master Planning
St. Charles has contracted with MTFA Architecture, whose first step will be to provide a master plan for St. Charles facilities that will take us through the next 50 years. Taking this interim step will better enable St. Charles to construct a community center that will not just meet today's parish program requirements but will also provide for future parish needs.
Ambassadors Group
To accomplish this plan, MTFA asked for an "Ambassadors Group" which consists of a wide representation of the ministries at St. Charles, including volunteer, pastoral team and outside community interests. Group members include:
Tim Brady Carolyn M. Gretzinger John Phelan Tricia Clark Fran Hobbs Carol Poplin Celia Coronado Sr. Benedict Kesock George H. Reyes Larry Craven Claire Larsen Angela Scanlon Monica Craven George Macdonald Theresa Sugameli Fr. Gerry Creedon Marvin Mayorga Jenny Sullivan Mimi Fitzgerald Joanne McGlinchy Micheline Toussaint Gemma Furno Upen Malani Re-Evaluating Cost Estimates
The Ambassadors Group has already met with MTFA several times to provide input and feedback regarding our program requirements developed in-house over the past two and one half years. In these discussions, it has been found that program needs have evolved since initial plans were developed. In re-evaluating program costs in light of these changes, as well as taking inflation factors into account, it is clear that actual construction costs for the Parish Center will exceed original estimates.
Capital Campaign Update
The GOOD NEWS is that in the single year of the Capital Campaign St. Charles has raised:
- 2.35 million dollars in pledges
- with 1.18 million dollars actual cash already donated
After the mandated Lenten break, fundraising efforts will be entering a new phase and are being planned to include out-of-parish support.
THE PARISH COMMUNITY IS ASKED TO CONTINUE TO PRAY FOR THE SUCCESS OF EFFORTS TO BUILD THE SPIRIT AT ST. CHARLES!
