lent

Dear Members of St. Charles,

“Open Wide the door to Christ” ..the Jubilee theme serves as a motif also for our Lenten Season. Rather than think only about “What am I giving up for Lent?” Why not consider “What will I do for Lent?” Make the sacrifice of time you might waste for a worthwhile activity. The parish offers many opportunities for prayer, worship, education, and service. I call your attention to Tuesday evenings. We will follow a Soup Supper with an exciting Lenten Adult Education Series. On February 23, Fr. Joe Hacala, SJ who assists Andrew Cuomo at HUD will address the Jubilee call to Justice and consider the issue of housing for all. Come and bring a friend. I also invite you to join me in the Chapel on Saturdays during Lent for a Scripture Sharing at 8 AM and a Faith Update at 6 PM. I will address, “Whatever happened to Sin?” on February 20.

Let Lent be a time of opening the door to Christ,

Rev. Gerry Creedon

P.S. I look forward to having tea with our senior adults on Wednesday! That is no penance!

Then if your schedule permits, join us for the Lenten talks.

Soup kitchens will begin at 6:00 PM in the School Cafeteria. Soup will be served until 7:30 PM when the Jubilee Justice Lenten Talks begin.
