from the pastor

Dear Members of St. Charles:

Plans are underway for a wonderful Volunteer Fair the weekend of September 12 and 13. Now is the time to consider your involvement at St. Charles. We are called to be generous stewards of our time, treasure and talent. Our Fair calls us to consider the theme of the Holy Spririt we will walk in the Spirit. Your involvement may bring you to join our catechists or to serve a meal at Christ House. Our ministries welcome your participation.

Many have asked about my pilgrimage to the Holy Land. I will offer a presentation on my experience on September the 9th at 7:30 PM.

Peace,

Rev. Gerry Creedon

Respect LifeMINISTRY

Transcending the established norms of his own culture, Jesus treated women with openness, respect, acceptance, and tenderness. In this way he honored the dignity which women have always possessed according to God's plan and in his love. As we look to Christ at the end of this Second Millennium, it is natural to ask ourselves: how much of this message has been heard and acted upon?

CHRIST HOUSE VOLUNTEERS NEEDED

Christ House provides shelter to the homeless, food to the hungry and clothing to those in need. St. Charles parishioners help those at the shelter by providing a simple menu once a month.. The food is gathered at one parishioner's home then delivered to Christ House in Alexandria. This is the perfect opportunity for busy parishioners to help those in need. The time involvement is minimal, yet you would be providing a wonderful gift by volunteering for this ministry. NOTE - For current volunteers: the Fall schedule will be distributed at the end of September. For more information, please contact Jan Martin at 528-0736, or Brigid Doherty in the Parish Office.
