FROM OUT PASTOR
Dear Parishioners,
This weekend is last call for a place at the table for our Centennial
Dinner on Nov 7th. Tickets are required. So, first come first
served. ALL are invited that day to a special Mass at 5pm with
Bishop Loverde and the Benedictine Sisters and ALL are welcome
at a reception at 6pm. Our hundredth anniversary is a special
time to give thanks and to renew our historic commitment to proclaim
the gospel of love and service. There will also be receptions
after all the Masses on Sunday, November 8.
Your million dollar generosity with the Centennial
Campaign continues to grow with additional pledges being added
each day. I thank Rebecca on our staff and our development committee
for their help with this project.
This Sunday we celebrate All Saints. On November 2nd, All Souls,
we remember those who have gone before us with a special Mass
of remembrance on November 2nd at 7:30pm. On Nov. 4, we celebrate
our patron St. Charles Borromeo
with a children's Mass at 9am. Mark your calendars on November
14th for a morning of Celtic Spirituality with Sr. June from Dominican
retreat House and myself as presenters.
Celebrate a century of spirit with all the saints!

No matter where you are on the faith journey, there is a place for
you at St. Charles.
On Sunday, November 8th, parishioners at the 11am Mass will have the
chance to welcome in a special way some young parishioners who are journeying
towards full initiation into the Catholic Church. These children are
"children of catechetical age." As believers, they are old
enough to be "enlightened by instruction" and to develop a
"living, explicit and active faith" (Christus Dominus 14).
Some are preparing for Baptism, others are already Baptized and are
preparing for First Holy Communion. As a parish, we acknowledge these
children as vital members of our faith community, support them and their
families as they grow in faith and love, and look forward to celebrating
the Sacraments of Initiation with them.
