Commemoration of the Faithful Departed (formerly
All Souls Day)
FROM THE PASTOR'S DESK
Dear St. Charles Parishioners,
This weekend we celebrate those who have gone before us; All Saints,
the heroes of our faith; and All Souls, family members and friends who
have gone before us in faith. We will celebrate a special Mass
of Remembrance on November 3rd.
Come to a time of conversation and reflection this Sunday November
the 2nd; on the topic, "What Happens in the Next Life?" a
reflection on our fears and faith with regard to death and dying in
the light of the Easter Message. I hope to have a dialogue with a special
guest.
Last weekend we presented an account
of our stewardship as a parish and on November 8/9 we will ask you
to consider your personal stewardship.
A big thank you all who participated and led our Oktoberfest
and the $11,000+ you have made available for our school.
Blessings to us all as we celebrate the
feast of our Patron, St. Charles Borromeo this Tuesday.
Feel the Spirit!

Gerry Creedon

our loved ones to the mercy and love of our Lord. May they rest in peace.

can be found in the Church near the statue of St. Joseph).
MASS OF REMEMBRANCE
The annual Mass of Remembrance will be held on Monday, November 3, 2008
at 7:30pm. This Mass will provide an opportunity to come together with
other parishioners who have lost a loved one and remember all who have
gone before us in faith. Please plan to join us for this special Mass.
Reception will follow in Benedict Hall.
PARISH OFFERTORY PROGRAM
Next weekend St. Charles will be conducting our annual Parish Offertory
Commitment of the Treasure pledge program. This past year has seen a
growth in church ministries along with generous tithing to support the
needs of the community, all resulting in a vibrant spirit that makes
St. Charles unique. Your financial support of the parish makes all this
possible. You are asked to consider and reflect on the gifts God has
given you and decide if what you return each weekend is enough, too
much or not enough. Then, based on prayerful reflection, each of us
should decide whether to increase, decrease or continue the financial
commitment we are making. St. Charles hopes each of you will accept
the call to reflect upon whether our financial gifts represent an adequate
thanksgiving for the many blessings God has bestowed upon us.
THANKS FOR KAIROS COOKIES AND PRAYERS
At the October Kairos prison ministry retreat at Fluvanna maximum security
prison 36 women from the ages of 20-50 found acceptance forgiveness

in cookies and prayers. Thanks you St. Charles.
