22nd Sunday in Ordinary Time
FROM THE PASTOR'S DESK
Dear St. Charles Parishioners,
I thank you for your warm welcome to our Haiti Priests last weekend.
Peres Lampy, St Louis, Ambroise and Beauvoir minister to our sisters
and brothers in the mother parishes of Cavaillon and Gros Marin. Their
ministry faces very daunting challenges augmented by the prevalence
of hunger, occasioned by bad weather, high prices and other factors.
I thank all of you who have offered to sponsor the education of children
and assistance with the nutrition program. Our Haiti Committee will
also strengthen its support to micro-enterprise. If you missed the second
collection for Haiti you may make additional donations by earmarking
your checks for Haiti.
We need volunteers for VOICE, an important regional interfaith community
organizing effort. Call Marisa at the Office.
Come to a Conversation I will lead on the bishops' document "Faithful
citizenship"; religion and politics on Sept. 7 at 7 PM.
Merci,

Gerry Creedon
