SPONSOR A CHILD!
For 22 years, our parish has supported the work being done by the Catholic
Church in Haiti. Our tithes support our sister parishes of Cavaillon,
Gros Marin and Sudre, located in one of the poorest regions of the country.
Our community also sponsors children and 6 schools in the region. The
Godparents' program pays for the tuition and lunches for 700 children
who would have no access to an education without our support. We are
still in need of sponsors for this school year. Only $100 pays a child's
tuition for the year. An additional $50 pays for their lunches. Given
the increasing food costs in the region, and the desperate poverty of
the region, for many of these children their school lunch is the only
meal of the day. Please consider a donation to help the children of
our sister parishes. For more information, contact Elise or Marc at
703-465-8010, or Haiti_godparents_program@yahoo.com,
or call Marisa Vertrees in the parish office, (703) 527-5500, ext. 126.

ADULT FAITH FORMATION
Have you heard of the website www.AmericanCatholic.org?
This is a great website run by St. Anthony Messenger Press, a Catholic
publisher, and is for anyone who wants to learn more about their
faith, those born and raised as Catholics or those looking to learn
more about the Catholic Church and traditions. They always have
info on the Saint of the day and other information about feast days
and seasons of the church year. They presently have some information
about the Year of Paul as Pope Benedict has declared for June 2008-June
2009.
They also publish a monthly article series called "Catholic Update".
It is only $13 for an annual subscription. Back-issues
of Catholic Update can be found online.
