Ascension of the Lord
FROM THE PASTOR
Dear St. Charles Parishioners,
This Sunday evening after the 6pm Mass I will hold a conversation
on St Charles' Africa Outreach. With the world food crisis accentuating
the impoverished conditions of life in Africa we need to double our
efforts to be of support. Our Africa Outreach is developing plans for
effective efforts toward global solidarity.
Come and help us DO SOMETHING! Next weekend May 11 we can support the
mothers and guardians of children suffering from AIDS in Kenya by buying
flowers after the Masses.
You may also support Borromeo Housing as they celebrate 20 years of
young single mothers and their children in our area. See the calendar
below for their event on May 10. On the same evening at the parish,
we celebrate the talents of our youth
at Cabaret.
Feel the Spirit!

Gerry Creedon

JUST NEIGHBORS
On behalf of the Board, staff and clients of Just Neighbors Ministry,
I would like to thank St. Charles Borromeo for its generous tithe
of $2,163.19. This gift will help us to continue to provide much-needed
immigration legal services to the low-income immigrant community of
Northern Virginia. St. Charles has helped send the Christian message
that our immigrant neighbors deserve to be treated with compassion
and justice.
