1st Sunday of Advent
FROM THE PASTOR
Dear St. Charles Parishioners,
Advent brings us a season of spiritual preparation for the Coming of
the Lord. Please use the Advent booklet that the parish provides, especially
on those evenings when your household gathers around the Advent Wreath.
Our Giving Tree reminds us to care for the needy. We reach out through
the Catholic Charities Christmas collection as well.
I know that your generosity will also include your habit of weekly
giving to the Offertory.
I invite you to join me this Sunday at 7 p.m. for a Conversation "Africa:
A Continent Remembered". The Africa Outreach Committee will help
in presenting our own Africa Aids project in Nairobi.
"For you shall arise the sun of justice with his healing rays"
Advent peace,

Gerry Creedon

SIMBANG GABI/MISA DEL GALLO
Come and join the wonderful Christmas tradition of nine novena Masses
from December 16th to 24th that usher in the birth of Christ. See why
people have been waking up on cold December mornings to come to Mass
at 5 a.m. for the past 10 years. This is a 400-year old tradition from
the Philippines. Masses are in English with a few carols and prayers
in Tagalog. But no matter the language of your birth, when we all sing
and pray from our hearts, we will all realize how truly universal our
faith is. We hope to see you there!
