Your generosity with time, talent and treasure are what make this parish
such a vibrant sign of the Risen Lord.
Last Friday we welcomed our newly confirmed young people to a more

RICE BOWL
Lent is over, and hopefully everyone has filled up their Rice Bowls.
Please count up your money and put a check for the money you've saved
in the collection basket or give it to the parish office. You can put
the check in your Rice Bowl envelope, or write Rice Bowl in the memo
line. Please send us your donations so that we can send the money to
those living in deep poverty abroad that are so in need of help. Thank
you for your generosity!

REFLECTION FOR TODAY
For the remaining five weeks of the Easter season, our readings will
be from the Acts of the Apostles and from John's Gospel, which offers
stories of Jesus' ministry not heard during the Ordinary Time of the
liturgical year. Today we hear of the events after Good Friday and the
joy of Easter Sunday when Peter longs to return to his old life. "I
am going fishing." he says. In a scene reminiscent of the original
call of Peter, Jesus appears to the group after a futile night of fishing
but is unrecognized by his followers. He calls out to Peter in the boat
and tells him where to drop his fishing nets. The fish overflow the
nets and they suddenly recognize him: "It is the Lord." Jesus
cooks them breakfast and asks Peter three times if he loves him. Peter,
puzzled, affirms three times that he loves Jesus - just as he denied
him three times during the Passion. Do we dare to love?

CONVERSATIONS WITH CREEDON
May 6, 7pm - Benedict Hall
Refreshments Provided - All Are Welcome
Young Adults and the Catholic Church: Problem or Opportunity?
In a recent Catholic News Service article, the lack of participation
of Catholics in their 20s and 30s was cited as a serious concern by
those Catholics surveyed in a recent Gallup poll. The survey results
confirmed findings that younger Catholics tend to have a looser, more
tenuous relationship with the Church than their older counterparts.
Come and hear what some younger Catholics at St. Chares, including some
newly initiated, have to say about their faith and participation within
the Catholic tradition. Come and share your own experience. Fr. Gerry
Creedon will lead the panel discussion and all are welcome.
INFANT BAPTISMAL PREPARATION
The next infant baptismal preparation meeting will be held on May 7
in Room 103 of the Parish Center. Pre-registration is required. Please
call the Parish Office to register or for more information.
Don't forget the Cinco de Mayo party is May 5 at 6:30pm!
MOM'S SHARING GROUP
The next meeting for the MOM's Sharing Group will be held on Thursday,
April 26th from 7:30pm - 9:00pm at St. Charles. Meetings will be held
on the 4th Thursday of every month.
"Being a mother is a deep commitment of both time and energy.
As mothers, women spend many hours continuing to create safe, nurturing
spaces where children can grow and learn. Now there's a special space
just for you - a place where you can get to better know the sacred self
that enlivens you, all that you are, and all that you desire to be."
If you are not sure if this is the right group for you, we encourage
you to come and check it out. It's a great opportunity to meet new people,
share and have some fun with fellow moms. If you are interested in attending,
you can reach Patricia at 703-534-0262 or kellergallardo@gmail.com
BISHOP'S 2007 LENTEN APPEAL
Thanks to all who have responded to the 2007 Bishop's Lenten Appeal
(BLA). St. Charles has exceeded our assigned goal. BLA funds support
Vocations, Family Life, Catholic Charities, Religious Education, Youth,
and many parish outreach programs. If you have not yet made a BLA pledge
it's not too late! Either send in your pledge using the form the Bishop
will be mailing to you next week or pledge envelopes are available in
the vestibule or the Parish Office. The vestibule envelopes can be returned
via the collection basket or Parish Office. Please - do not mail or
use these envelopes for payments on pledges already made. These envelopes
are for new pledges only! Your BLA gift to "Bring Hope to Those
in Need" within our diocese is greatly appreciated.
FOOD PANTRY NEEDS
Our Food Pantry is in need of the small, self-opening cans of tuna,
