Fourth Sunday of Lent
FROM THE PASTOR
Dear St. Charles Parishioners,
Lent is a season of repentance and reconciliation.
Bishop Loverde will celebrate a Mass of Healing at St. Charles on March
26 to reach out to all who have been hurt by sexual abuse at the hands
of clergy or others in our diocese and beyond. Clergy need to acknowledge
our complicity in sin, the hurt caused to the faith community and stand
under God's judgment and mercy.
On April 1, I will hold a Conversation With Creedon with Dr. Fleming
from the Wilson Institute, our topic will be "Climate Change: Care
for the Environment and its Impact on the Poor". Come and help
us to be reconciled to the earth itself, our mother.
Lord, Have mercy,

Gerry Creedon

LENT POLL: MORE MASSES & DIETING BUT NOT LESS TV
We kicked off Lent on the parish website, www.stcharleschurch.org, one
of our most popular surveys as more than 240 voted on what
they planned to do for Lent. First place was getting ashes on Ash
Wednesday (picked by 79% of participants), followed by going to Mass
more often and giving up a favorite food/drink (55% each). Only 5% of
you were giving up TV or a favorite show, though, as Lent started during
a sweeps month. Visit the parish site this week for ideas on how to
make this your best Lent ever.
SPONSOR OF THE WEEK: Our thanks to Mark J. Monaco, ESQ Immigration
Attorney. For his support.
