Have you been baptized as a Catholic but never was Confirmed? Bishop
Loverde confirms adults from throughout the diocese each year on Pentecost
Sunday (June 27). We will begin a 10 week Adult Confirmation Preparation

NEW YEAR RESOLUTIONS
If you made a resolution for the New Year to look for an opportunity
to volunteer, please check out the Circle

the homebound, providing transportation, helping with funeral Masses,
and planning senior lunches are just a few of the many services provided
by the Circle of Caring where your talent and time would be very much
appreciated.

Last year our parish website, www.StCharlesChurch.org, had 172,945 visits
during which 916,907 pages were viewed. That translates to about 473
visits every day with the average visitor looking at five pages. The
busiest day of the year was Ash Wednesday when the site experienced
2,041 visits. The least busy day? July 4 with only 250 visits. The most

LENT SMALL FAITH GROUP FACILITATORS NEEDED
Lent will begin on Wednesday, February 21 this year. Last year, over
120 folks participated in weekly small faith groups that met at the
Church or in homes for the 5 weeks of Lent. Most groups are 6-10 people.
All materials are provided. Facilitator training is provided. Please

ST. CHARLES SCHOOL
OPEN HOUSE-TODAY!
All parishioners are cordially invited to the St. Charles School Open
House on Sun 1/28. Orientation sessions in Benedict Hall at 10:15am
& 12:15pm (in English) and 2:15pm (in Spanish). Meet our Principal,
Sr. Benedict Kesock, O.S.B., Faculty and Staff. Talk to School parents
and students, and tour the school from 10am-1:00pm and after 1pm by
appointment. Information about tuition assistance and the pre-K and
Grades K-8 programs will be available. We look forward to meeting you!

ON WAR AND PEACE
"What Makes a Just War - What Makes Peace Possible", a Symposium
is being sponsored by the Arlington Diocese Peace and Justice Commission
and will take place on Saturday, February 3 at the Cathedral of St.
Thomas More. The day begins with Mass at 9am. The Symposium will be
held in Burke Hall from 9:45am-1pm.
2007 BISHOP'S LENBTEN APPEAL BEGINS
A mailing from Bishop Loverde that begins the 2007 Bishop's Lenten Appeal
has been sent to many of you. Please review it carefully as the programs
and services supported by this appeal requires the financial support
of each of us in order to continue to meet the challenges and rapid
growth within our Diocese. If you did not receive the mailing, additional
information will be provided over the next few weeks. This year's theme
is "Bringing Hope to Those in Need." Bringing this spiritual
hope to our people is a significant element in the mission of our Diocese.
