Second Sunday of Easter
FROM THE PASTOR
Dear St. Charles Parishioners,
"Alleluia! He is Risen!
Sr. Benedict's Golden Anniversary next weekend is an opportunity for
all of us to honor a woman of great faith and a time for all of us to
join in her passionate dedication to the Church's task of education
and evangelization! Ad Multos Annos!
"The community of believers was of one mind and heart
they
held everything in common
with great power the apostles bore witness
to the resurrection of the Lord Jesus, and there was no needy person
among them." In many ways St. Charles exemplifies this Easter message.
We welcomed 15 new members through the Easter sacraments and over 40
through the Sacrament of Confirmation There was a generous outpouring
of prayer and gifts during the Triduum and on Easter Sunday. I thank
all who made Easter a time of hope and love for all.
We also welcome six children of the Latin American community who will
be baptized today, and who have been prepared through the RCIC program.
The Church is particularly exercised at this time in our nation's
history with the plight of immigrants and supports a comprehensive approach
to immigration reform. I am sending Pope John Paul's World Migration
Day Message from 1995 to the website for your consideration as you reflect
on this issue.
Please join me on May 7 at 7pm for "Conversations With Creedon"
on "Facing the End: Easter Reflections on Life and Death"
with Peter Dirr, Coordinator of the Circle of Caring ministry at the
parish.
Let us join Sr. Benedict in renewing ourselves for another 50 years
of hope filled ministry! With Easter Joy! Alleluia!
Gerry Creedon
Congratulations!
