13th Sunday in Ordinary Time
FROM THE PASTOR
Dear St. Charles Parishioners,
The Gospel this weekend talks about hospitality. "Whoever receives
you, receives me."
Next Weekend St. Charles will host Peres Jocelyn and Dieuvelome, pastors
of our twin parishes in Cavaillon and Gros Marin, Haiti. I ask you to
join me in offering them Virginia hospitality, or better, St. Charles'
unique brand of welcome. The members of the Haiti can attest to the
warmth and lavish reception that our sisters parishes have provide us.
This will also be a time to evaluate their needs and our support. I
know that I am speaking for all of you and especially the sponsors of
our adopted students when I say "Vous etes les bienvenus"
Peace,

A GREAT BIG THANK YOU to all the wonderful volunteers who helped
to make our First Annual
International Festival such a great success! The day was fun for
all! We are very fortunate to have benefit from the generosity of so
many. Through this generosity and hard work, we were able to raise over
$10,000.00 for our Parish Center! Our community is very privileged to
have such wonderfully generous and caring people. Congratulations to
all!

FAITH FORMATION
What does hospitality mean? How are we to be open-hearted to others?
Jesus' words are full of the meaning of welcome today. To welcome another
into one's friendships, into the office clique, into our ministries,
into our families can be a challenge. To welcome the stranger, even
more so. Yet that is what the Christian is called to. Practice staying
"Open-Hearted" to others this week. Notice what seems to shut
your heart down.
REGISTRATION FOR ENROLLMENT IN ST. CHARLES SCHOOL
Registration will continue throughout the summer. Give your child the
benefit of a faith-based education with a strong emphasis on excellence
in academics. Spaces are available in Grades K through 8. Call the school
office at 703-527-0608 for information or to schedule an appointment.
Check the school website (www.stcharles.k12.va.us) for summer office
hours and for detailed information about our parish school. Feel the
Spirit - Spread the Spirit! Tell your friends and co-workers about St.
Charles School, they will be glad you did.
"FEEL THE SPIRIT
AGAIN!"
St. Charles School is forming an Alumni Association. If you are a graduate
of St. Charles School (or if you know someone who is), please visit
the School's Web site at www.stcharles.k12.va.us and click on the "Alumni"
link. There you can complete a short online form to register. There
are NO dues or fees to participate. We hope to sign up as many Alumni
as possible as we are planning a big reunion to conincide with the celebration
of Sr. Benedict's Golden Jubilee on Saturday, April 29, 2006.

IN OUR PARISH
MORE PHOTOS TO PARISH WEBSITE BASED N SURVEY FEEDBACK
Many parishioners requested more photos on the parish website during
last month's survey and the Web Team has listened. Check us our this
week to see photos of the
international festival, Fr.
Jack's 25th anniversary, our clergy and staff,
plus some of our choirs at www.StCharlesChurch.org.
Thanks for your feedback. One survey respondent said, "I live in
Dallas, TX. However, I enjoy checking your website from time to time
to see what's happening. When I'm in Washington on business, I find
your priest Sunday schedule really helpful when trying to decide which
service to attend."
