12th Sunday in Ordinary Time

FROM THE PASTOR
Dear St. Charles Parishioners,

On Wednesday 22nd Our Liturgy Committee hosts an educational supper for all our ministers and volunteers. I encourage you to come and join us if you are currently assisting in any way with our celebrations. Or if you are thinking about involvement. This is an occasion when the priests of the parish join me in appreciating all who make our worship a source of spiritual growth. Tom Stehle our presenter, Pastoral Associate for liturgy and music at Our Lady of Mercy, Potomac, in Maryland has a wide range of liturgical and musical background.

Again a huge thank you to Marvin Mayorga and all who made our First Annual International Festival such a joyful and profitable multicultural experience,

Peace,
Rev. Gerry Creedon

SIGN UP NOW FOR JUSTFAITH
JustFaith, a formation program for parishioners interested in social ministry, will be offered beginning this fall. JustFaith provides intensive study of the Christian's call to address the needs of the world. The thirty-week program includes weekly meetings, regular reading, retreats and immersion experiences. Find registration forms in the Parish Office. For more information, talk to parishioners wearing "Ask Me About JustFaith" buttons, or contact Jody Brady 703-527-5289, or Giselle Dupuis, 703-522-0565 or justfaith@stcharleschurch.org.

SPONSOR OF THE WEEK: Our thanks to Arlington Funeral Home for their support.

FAITH FORMATION
If we truly believe that God is the Giver of all life, and that God is "Father" (parent) of all, then human parents are never the "owners" of their children. God has entrusted them with the privilege and responsibility of raising God's own sons and daughters. As parent, the way you behave - what you do - is more important than what you say. For Better & Forever, Preparing for Christian Marriage, Fr. Robert Ruhnke.

REGISTRATION FOR ENROLLMENT IN ST. CHARLES SCHOOL

IN OUR PARISH

MORE DAILY READING AND REFLECTIONS LINKS ADDED TO PARISH WEBSITE BASED ON SURVEY FEEDBACK
Several parishioners commented on the need for easier access to more links to daily readings and reflections on the parish website during last month's survey. Check out the Faith section of www.StCharlesChurch.org, this week for expanded options, including a link to the Carmelites' Pray the News site. In addition to great suggestions from parishioners, the survey also generated interesting results. We received more responses from attendees of the 6 PM Mass than from any other Mass - a change from all previous years where the most responses came from the 11 AM Mass. One respondent said, "The Parish is truly indebted to you for the effort you expend to get information and for the professional quality of your product. Keep up the good work!"

BIBLE STUDY FOR TEENS
All rising 8th graders through graduating high school seniors are cordially invited to attend Velocity, a fun, media driven Bible Study especially geared for teens! Come grow in the Lord and in the Sacred Scriptures and grow in self-esteem and knowledge of yourself in the process. This will be offered in the Youth Room on the second floor of the Community Center Tuesdays & Thursdays from 7:30-9:00 pm on the following dates: 6/28, 7/5, 7/7, 7/12, 7/14, 7/19, 7/21, 7/26, 7/28, 8/16, 8/18, 8/30, & 9/1.
