will involve more than 40 national religious leaders including Cardinal
Theodore E. McCarrick. Gather in a spirit of prayer, listen to the Most
Rev. Njongonkulu Ndungane, Anglican Archbishop of Cape Town, South Africa,

FAITH FORMATION
In the time of Jesus, the despised tax collectors were seen as traitors
because they collected the taxes for the Roman oppressors. The fact
that Jesus befriended and ate with tax collectors and sinners scandalized
the religious leaders who saw him as religiously impure. The leaders
had become experts at following the letter of the law, yet they had
lost the understanding of the spirit of the law. Jesus challenges them
to reach out to others with love and mercy. He teaches that the meaning
of the law is love and that this love is meant for all, especially those
who are lost, especially the sinners. (Cathechumen's Lectionary, Paulist
Press).

are NO dues or fees to participate. We hope to sign up as many Alumni

PORTO CARAVAN'S ANNUAL COLLECTION FOR GOD'S SPECIAL CHILDREN
Bishop Loverde has once again endorsed Porto Caravan, Order of Alhambra's

such as the Paul VI High School Potions Program, the Helen Kellar Institute,
Catholic Special Religious Education, and the diocesan "Keyboard
for Kids" program which provides audio/visual communication capability
to special needs students. The Bishop has sanctioned this collection
as a blessing for God's Special Children, their families and this entire
diocese. Please be generous in your support of this worthwile endcavor.
