6th Sundy of Easter
FROM THE PASTOR
Dear St. Charles Parishioners,
As the universal Church welcomes a new Pope, we are all called to support
him in prayer. It is also timely to rededicate ourselves to the work
of service. Seventy of our young people made their Confirmation commitment
to live their faith more fully last week. May the Parish of St. Charles
join them in renewed faith.
This Sunday at 7 PM, we welcome Sr. Margaret Scott from the Woodstock
Center at Georgetown to present the topic "Bread
Broken and Shared," a reflection on the Eucharist and social
responsibility. This is co-sponsored by the diocesan Committee for the
Year of the Eucharist and the Peace and Justice Commission, which I
chair. Do come.,
Our prayers accompany Harrison Orosco and all children who are taken
from us in an untimely way.
In the Spirit,

topics such as communication, finances, intimacy and faith. For more

may take part in this beautiful ministry of serving our engaged community.
(Training will be provided at a later date based on an independent schedule).

FAITH FORMATION
Faith in Christ is a dwelling place that empowers us. We have security
in him and, as we gather for Eucharist, our worship should feel like
home to all those who come---the "regulars," and those we
rarely see. But we know some in our gathering don't feel entirely welcome
and equal. They don't feel our gatherings places are their home too:
single parents, divorced, gays, women, immigrants, migrants, etc. We
pray that, while we find a home in Christ, we be strengthened to work
for a church and a world that will be home to all. We wait for the Pentecost
Spirit with anticipation of a renewal we cannot accomplish on our own.

IN OUR PARISH
TAKE THE ANNUAL PARISH WEBSITE
USER SURVEY
Your Parish website, StCharlesChurch.org, celebrates its seventh anniversary
next month. Help mark the event by taking our annual survey of visitors
to our website. We want the opinions of as broad a cross section of
the Parish as possible about which features you like, which ones you
can do without and suggestions for additions. Whether you're a first-time
visitor or you log on every day, let your voice be heard by taking our
anonymous survey next time you're online.
WISHES LIST
Whatever happened to the Wishes? I want to give some feed back and thanks
to parishioners who took the time either on the wishes sheets or on-line.
The wishes were published on the web
and summarized for the Town Meeting on Sunday, January 30, and were
discussed with participants at that session. This feedback was added
and the summaries were shared at a Joint Meeting of the Parish Council
and the Pastoral Team/Staff (combined staff of the school and rectory).
The wishes have also been sorted according to the ministries and subgroups
and have been forwarded to the respective groups. Some of the information
requested in the wishes may be found in the recently published Social
Justice Newsletter and we will continue to give additional feedback
in subsequent bulletins and on the web. Thanks for your ideas and your
assistance in carrying them out.
Mimi Fitzgerald,
President of the Parish Council
