Easter Sunday

FROM THE PASTOR
Alleluia Christ has Risen!

We welcome new members who have joined our church through the Easter Sacraments. May they find the Risen Lord as they journey with us.

On Holy Thursday we marked the anniversary of Archbishop Oscar Romero of El Salvador, a prophetic witness to faith and justice. A video presentation will be offered at Benedict Hall on Tuesday evening that commemorates his life and tragic assassination…

Rachel Lusting, chair of our Parish Social Justice Committee and Staff at Catholic Charities USA will be my guest in the Conversation with Creedon series on April 3 at 7:00 PM. The topic is "Everyday Christianity: the challenge of living out the faith in our complex world."

Thanks to all who made the Easter ceremonies such a faithfilled experience at St. Charles,

Remember to hand in your rice bowl donations,
Rev. Gerry Creedon

FAITH FORMATION
The image of God:
Christ in the very revelation of the mystery of the Father and of his love makes man fully manifest to himself and brings to light his exalted vocation. It is in Christ, the image of the invisible God, that man has been created "in the image and likeness of the Creator." It is in Christ, Redeemer and Savior, that the divine image, disfigured in man by the first sin, has been restored to its original beauty and ennobled by the grace of God. Catechism of the Catholic Church, 1701.

ALL SAINTS-5 CAR RAFFLE
Car raffle tickets have been mailed to all St. Charles parish families. Thanks to all those who have returned their tickets! In the first week, your efforts have helped to contribute over $4,000 to St. Charles School! IN OUR PARISH

KEEP FEELING THE SPIRIT AFTER EASTER
The Easter Season is a great time to keep connected to your faith through the parish website, www.StCharlesChurch.org. First-time visitors to our parish will get a real feel for St. Charles by checking out fun photos from recent events, reading a Fr. Gerry homily or two and seeing at a glance all that our parish has to offer you. Join an email list to keep involved or find a volunteer opportunity for someone with your talents. Drop by next time you're online.

SPRING IS THE AIR—AND SO IS LOVE!
St. Charles's own Pre-Cana Couple Mentoring Program (CMP) is looking for married couples to be mentors to engaged couples preparing for the sacrament of marriage. Program materials which cover the areas of communication, finances, family, spirituality, and intimacy are provided for reflection sessions. Help an engaged couple to shape their expectations about marriage realistically by sharing privately with one another, thus helping them to grow closer together. For more information contact Margie & John Barba at 703-281-5316 or at mbarba@aol.com. Couples interested in becoming mentors will meet on Sunday April 3rd at 10:00 AM in a room off Benedict Hall. Please come and share the Eastertime love of God with couples preparing for marriage.

ALTAR SERVERS
Altar servers are needed for all Masses. Boys 8 years or older who have made their First Communion are encouraged to consider this important ministry. Training (and a front row seat at Mass) will be provided. Contact Andy Samora at (703) 538-2570 or by e-mail at Arthur.samora@verizon.net.

CIRCLE OF CARING
Do you know a neighbor, a fellow parishioner, or a friend who is sick, homebound, or in need of a prayer? Whether it is an errand, a visit, Communion, or a prayer, the St. Charles Circle of Caring can help.
