Epiphany of the Lord
FROM THE PASTOR
Dear St. Charles Parishioners,
A New Year is a time for fresh beginnings. St. Charles wants to look
ahead to meet new challenges. Next week's bulletin carries a flyer with
the question, "What is your wish
for St. Charles in this new year? And beyond?" Please take
a moment during the week to consider your hopes for your parish. Share
your hopes with us as you share your donation in next Sunday's offertory.
I thank you for the outreach of our people at Christmas and pledge
the support of our clergy and staff to our ongoing mission,
May Christ be your light in 2005,
PLEASE READ: During this busy Advent and Christmas season, please
remember to extend your generosity to your fellow parishioners by sharing

RESPECT LIFE MINISTRY
"Proportionate reason [the prerequisite for any Catholic support
of 'pro-choice' political candidates who support elements of church
social
teaching] does not mean that each issue carries the same moral weight;
intrinsically evil acts such as abortion or research on stem cells taken
from human embryos cannot be placed on the same level as debates over
war or capital punishment...." Bishop Loverde

SISTER BENEDICT CHRISTMAS THANK YOU
Thank you for the many Christmas Kindnesses
and greetings you have bestowed upon me and St. Charles School. It is
a joy and a privilege to share with you in the COMING of the Christ
Child.
This has been a joyous year with great celebration
and rejoicing. The Parish Center with the Tiffany Werthman Gym, a preschool,
"Benedict Hall" and much more, has become a reality. A 30
year DREAM, three Bishops, nine Pastors later and the time, treasure
and talent of so many of you have made this moment in history possible,
in my life time, after a 6 way bi-pass in December of 1999. ANOTHER
CHRISTMAS MIRACLE!
May 2005 be a beacon of Hope and a time of Peace,
not only us but for our "brothers and sister" throughout the
world. May the message of the Angels on that first Christmas night reign
supreme. "Peace on Earth
"
Feel the Spirit! Live the Spirit! You are the
Spirit!
As Always In Him,
Sister Benedict Kesock, OSB
Principal
