Dear St. Charles Parishioners,
"As king he claims dominion over all creation that he may present
to you, his almighty Father, a kingdom of truth and life, a kingdom
of holiness and grace, a kingdom of justice, love and peace."
These words from the Preface of the Mass of Christ the King are recognized
by the theologians as the charter for the Church. The Church is not
there for itself, we are the community called to establish Christ's
Kingdom. This kingdom extends beyond our bounds to all people. The signs
of the presence of God's reign are the qualities listed in this prayer.
"Justice" is the goal of the Campaign for Human Development.
The eradication of poverty in America cannot be accomplished by charity
alone unless it is accompanied by action for justice to change conditions,
attitudes and structure. Your second collection donations help these
lofty goals by supporting self-help projects managed by the poor themselves.
An example of this work is the effort of BRAVO in our area to support
tenant organizing. Please be generous.

MISSING FROM THE PARISH OFFICE
The Parish Office is missing two items. One is an 8½" x
11" paper-bound book entitled. "Faith Sharing for Small Communities."
The second item is a white binder containing "Diocesan Publications"
software and documentation. Both items were "removed" from
the Front Desk. We would greatly appreciate their return.
PLEASE READ: PLEASE TURN OFF YOUR CELL PHONES AND BEEPERS WHEN YOU
COME TO MASS. PERHAPS YOU CAN LEAVE THEM ON SILENT INSTEAD OF RINGING.
