Bulletin for Oct. 24, 2004

30th Sunday in Ordinary Time
(See also: Irish Poetry Seminar flyer)

from the pastor... Dear St. Charles Parishioners,

A big thank you to Frank Vega who coordinated the organization and major volunteer effort for our very successful Oktoberfest! The participation of the community guaranteed a joyful and fruitful event. Gracias.

This weekend new parishioners are welcomed through our Receptions following the evening Masses on Saturday and Sunday. Come join us if you are new. Registration forms are available.

On Sunday November 7th at 7:00 PM I will host a Conversation with Creedon on the topic "Revitalizing Faith" through scripture in small groups. Kelly Moon will join me in the presentation. Mark your calendar.

Peace,
Rev. Gerry Creedon

ALL SAINTS DAY
Please note that since the feast of All Saints falls on a Monday this year, there is no obligation to attend Mass.

6TH ANNUAL MASS OF REMEMBRANCE
The Mass of Remembrance will be celebrated on Wednesday, November 3, at 7:30 PM at St. Charles Church. Join your fellow parishioners in remembering deceased loved ones who have touched our lives. A reception will follow in Benedict Hall.

MEMORIAL MASS FOR BRIAN FRANCIS
As an active member of C'YA and the Haiti committee, Brian Francis made a lasting impression on so many at St. Charles. So, those of us who knew and loved Brian will celebrate and remember him with a memorial Mass in the Church on Monday, October 25th at 7:00 PM, with a light reception in Benedict Hall after the Mass. If you have a favorite picture of Brian, please bring it to share and reminisce. Also, if you would like to participate in the Mass or care to bring refreshments for the reception, please contact Marcie Williams at 703-979-8651.

GOSPEL OF JOHN VIDEOS
A three Part Video Series on the Gospel of John will be shown on November 3, 10, and 17 in the Parish Library from 10:00 AM to 11:30 AM. For more information call Jim Morris (703) 920-7945.

TIME CHANGE
It's that time of the year again. Please remember that on Sunday October 31 we move back our clocks one hour; it's a good time to check the batteries on your fire alarms as well.
