Dear St. Charles Parishioners,
This weekend we welcome Fr. John O Hara as my associate and parochial
vicar of St. Charles. I am delighted to have the opportunity to work
with a close friend of many years.
Our paths in ministry have been very similar, in addition to parish
ministry, both of us have served in our Diocesan Mission at Banica in
the Dominican Republic and as former Directors of Diocesan Catholic
Charities. Both of us are graduates of Washington Theological Union
and the School of Social Service at Catholic University. Besides, his
ancestors hail from Ireland!
I look forward to collaborating with him and with you in the years
ahead know that you will extend to him the warmest of welcomes.
I urge parents to attend Sunday evening's session on faith issues for
children and youth.
Welcome, Failte, Bienvenido,

RESPECT LIFE
"The Holy Father speaks of the protection of life as the fundamental
realization [of any] respect for human rights. Without that realization,
without that respect for the right to life, no other discussion of human
rights can continue; it must be based upon the foundation of human dignity
and the right to life." -- Cardinal Renato Martino, President of
the Pontifical Council for Justice and Peace at the Vatican.
"ABORTION." Is this word a part of your past? Are you in
need of some deep spiritual healing? If so, call Maryanne at 703-841-2504
or project rachel@arlingtondiocese.org.
