On Saturday, September 18, St. Charles will host the diocesan Peace
and Justice Conference followed by a seminar
on affordable housing. Bishop Loverde will initiate the conference
by celebrating the 9:00 AM Mass at the Church. Dr. Steven Colecchi newly
appointed director of International Justice and Peace office at of the
National Bishop's Conference will provide an overview on faithful citizenship
at Benedict Hall. There will be sessions on the areas of life, justice,
peace and solidarity. The afternoon workshop is sponsored by the Alliance
for Affordable Housing, an inter faith advocacy and education network.
On September 12, at 7:00 PM in Benedict Hall I welcome Julie Bentz
to dialogue with me on the topic of "The
Catholic Church and Women." Julie is a leader with our RCIA
program and an official in the Office of Homeland Security. She
holds a Ph D in engineering and has served as a lay missionary with
the International Catholic Program of Evangelization.

MINISTRY OF MOMS SHARING (MOMS)
8 Week Moms Journaling Series Who may participate: Women engaged in
the spiritual and physical upbringing of their children who need a place
to receive personal and spiritual nurturing. What: MOMS creates an awareness
of the inner sacred self, teaching new ways to inspire, encourage and
affirm each other. Women will have the opportunity to clarify values,
claim their own giftedness and bring these strengths to their family

SHANAH TOVAH (HAPPY NEW

6:00 PM Mass for "Our Father, Our King: An Introduction to the
Music and Liturgy of the Jewish High Holidays." Rabbi William Rudolph
will discuss the structure and meaning of the High Holiday liturgies,
traditional Rosh Hashanah foods will be served, and participants will
be invited to hear and sing High Holiday music, led by the St. Charles
