FROM THE PASTOR'S DESK
Dear St. Charles Parishioners,
"Protecting our
children informal reflection and dialogue on the Catholic Church's
current response to the issue of abuse" will be the topic for a
conversation to which you are invited to contribute this Sunday at 7:00
PM in Benedict Hall. Our special guest will be Jennifer Alvaro, LCSW,
Victims' Assistance Coordinator and Director of Child Protection and
Safety for the Diocese of Arlington. Join us for light refreshments,
presentation and dialogue.
I'am happy that more then 50 members have joined in with our ongoing
faith-sharing groups during Lent. I thank
Kelly Moon for her leadership in this effort. We have added a 7:30 AM
Mass for Lent. I will lead a scripture reflection Saturdays at 8:00
AM in the Chapel. Remember to share the scripture booklets as part of
your household prayers, as well as the Rice Bowl prayer.
May our Lent be a time of more prayer and reflection,

Lent are days of abstinence.

RESPECT LIFE MINISTRY
"
no one can ever renounce this responsibility [to act
according to a formed conscience], especially when he or she a legislative
or decision-making mandate, which calls that person to answer to God,
to his or her own conscience, and to the whole of society for choices
which may be contrary to the common good." (Evangelium Vitae, para
90).
