FROM THE PASTOR'S DESK
Dear St. Charles Parishioners,
Alleluia!
Thanks for a great celebration
for the Dedication of our new Parish Community Center and Sr. Benedict's
30 years of service. The Polka Party
was bigger and better than ever.
May the spirit of these events signal an ongoing attitude of sharing
and cooperation as we consider the many requests for the use of our
Center. We still have many tasks to complete before it is fully operational.
We are attempting to limit the use of the space until we have taken
care of some preliminary requirements. The Parish Center Committee under
the leadership of Monica Craven, and Araceli Manoalt, Parish Office
and Colleen Nevius, School Office are working with me to manage the
use of space.
Please offer them your support and patience as we plan.
"WELCOMING RETURNING/INACTIVE
CATHOLICS"
If you are a Catholic who has been away from the Church, we invite you
to be an active part of us again. "Landings" is an eight-week
discussion series, a safe landing place for returning Catholics to explore
their faith and future with the Church. We begin on Ash Wednesday, February
25. If you are interested, please call Anna LaNave at 703-916-8746.
THE ARLINGTON CATHOLIC HERALD
The Arlington Catholic Herald is distributed to every registered Catholic
household in the Diocese. Each year, St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church
is assessed a dollar amount based upon the number of registered parishioners.
This year our assessment is over $15,000.00. PLEASE HELP US TO DEFRAY
THIS COST! A year's subscription to the HERALD is only $15.00! Your
assistance will enable us to use our funds in other needed areas.
You may drop off your donation at the Parish Office at any time. Or,
if you prefer, you may send your subscription payment to the HERALD
directly (200 N. Glebe Road, Suite 607, Arlington, VA 22203). The HERALD
can also be contacted via e-mail at: circulation@catholicherald.com.
The HERALD will credit St. Charles' account.
SPONSOR OF THE WEEK: Our thanks to TONY'S KITCHEN for their
support.

TOP PARISH WEB PAGES IN JANUARY
Your parish website, www.stcharleschurh.org, gets thousands of visitors
each month and we invite you to be one of them. The most popular pages
in January were the home page, parish
calendar, celebrant's schedule,
parish background, C'YA
calendar, news & events, the San
Carlos homepage, Fr.
Chuck's house blessing, the polka
party and map/directions. The most frequented
ministries online were unchanged from last month: C'YA
(young adults), RCIA (for converts)
and Landings (for returning Catholics).
In a bit of a surprise, the most read homily was Fr.
Creedon's discussion of disabilities from October 26, which is showing
strong staying power even after three months. Visit us this week to
check out photos and a Q&A
from the recent town halls. Your participation online will determine
which pages are most popular this month!
