FROM THE PASTOR
Come to our dialogue after the 6 PM Mass in the Cafeteria on "Faithful
Citizenship: Catholics and Elections." I will host Joan Rosenhauer,
staff to the Bishops' Conference. Thanks for your participation at Ministries
Fair and for the ongoing work of our ministries as they include new
members.
We join our Latin American Community in their celebration of the Peruvian
feast, "Señor de los Milagros." One of the great marvels
is the gift of life itself. On this respect life Sunday let us renew
our struggle against all the threats to human life from conception to
natural death. "We cannot simultaneously commit ourselves to human
rights and progress while eliminating or marginalizing the weakest among
us" (Living the Gospel of Life, 20)

RECIPES NEEDED FOR PARISH COOKBOOK
On The Way wants your favorite recipes to be included in a parish cookbook.
Please pick up a recipe card from the table outside the Memorial Room,
fill it out with your favorite recipe and then drop it in the box on
the table outside the Memorial Room. Recipes will be collected from
now until October 19th. Cookbooks should be ready for Christmas!
THANKS FOR YOUR COOPERATION!
Thank you for continuing to cooperate with our parking
lot attendants as they try to accommodate everyone's parking needs!
We again ask for your patience as our community center construction
continues. Please also note that parking at Midas is limited to Sunday
ONLY! Midas will tow if you park at any other time! If you come to the
Church or School during the week for an evening meeting, to meet with
a teacher, or conduct business at the Parish Office and plan to leave
St. Charles' property for any period of time (to go the coffee shop,
etc.), please stop by the Parish Office to get a temporary parking permit.
We would like to make sure your car is not towed. Our towing company
has been very accommodating to our needs, but occasionally, accidents
happen. THANK YOU AGAIN FOR ALL YOUR COOPERATION!

JOIN THE LIFE CHAIN
Each year, on the first Sunday of October, individuals gather around
the country in a powerful, public display of prayer and witness signifying
to the community that killing pre-born children is not the way for a
civilized society to act. Catholic Churches throughout the diocese have
participated in the past in Life Chain and again are encouraged to do
so this year. On Sunday, October 5th, at the intersection of Route 7
and Lee Highway in Falls Church, from 2-3:30 PM, to pray for the end
of abortion. For more information, contact Grace Sims at moshimoshi
AT starpower . net or please call 703-528-5522.

their support.
RESPECT LIFE MINISTRY
for all who have reached the autumn of their lives: that these final
years will be received as God's good gift, and that even suffering and
pain might be received as a share in the cross of Christ Jesus, Our
Lord:
