Dear St. Charles Parishioners:
Trinity Sunday celebrates the community dimension of God, Father,
Son and Spirit. The three persons of the Trinity are in relationship
and interaction.
The theologians emphasize the indwelling of the Trinity in the life
of the church. We are called to be a community of relationship and interaction,
reflecting the communal nature of God.
This dimension of parish life underlies all of our activities, even
the most apparently mundane, such as stewardship. Our Rooted in Faith-Forward
in Hope Campaign has been an experience of teamwork and community for
all of our volunteers and participants. In sharing our substance, we
strengthen the spirit of giving. St. Charles is not a parish of elite;
the widow's mite counts as much as the millionaire's largesse.
This weekend we insure that all our worshippers, whether registered
or not, have the opportunity to join our stewardship efforts. Thanks
for your spirit of generous sacrifice. Call the Office, if you have
questions.
In the Spirit!

DONATIONS FOR AACH-SULLIVAN HOUSE
This transitional shelter offers priority housing to battered women
and their children. The moms Ministry is collecting disposable diapers
for a monthly drop-off. The shelter accepts both new and opened packages
- good news if your baby always outgrows a size before you've finished
the jumbo pack! Please drop-off at the Parish Office during office hours.
BAPTISM PREPARATION IN ENGLISH
Please note that Baptism preparation in English will be offered on Sunday,
June 22 at 12 Noon in the Parish Library. Pre-registration is required.
Please call the Parish Office at 703-527-5500.

SOCIAL JUSTICE NEWS
HELPING CLARENDON HOUSE
Dear parishioners, today's tithe is going to Clarendon House, an organization
that our church has gotten to know well through our dear parishioner,
Jan McDonald, a local counselor. Clarendon House is a rehabilitation
program for the mentally ill, located right on 10th Street. Its goal
is to prevent unnecessary hospitalization and provide psychological
rehabilitation for those with mental illness. I have seen the goodness
of the volunteers of Clarendon House, and the need for their efforts
to help this often misunderstood population. If you are interested in
knowing more, feel free to contact me or Jan at 800-347-6647 (ext 204).
RESPECT LIFE MINISTRY
"Part of this daily heroism is also the silent but effective and
eloquent witness of all those brave mothers who devote themselves to
their own family without reserve, who suffer in giving birth to their
children and who are ready to make any effort
in order to pass
on to them the best of themselves." (Evangelium Vitae, para.
