    Lent: The Journey Within

    Dear St. Charles Parishioners:

I thank you for listening to my presentations these past weeks on "Rooted in Faith~Forward in Hope Campaign." With success in this initiative we will complete the financing of our Community Center and provide support to needed services in the larger church. I deeply appreciate the willingness of so many volunteers to represent St. Charles as we reach out to our fellow members.

Please greet their calls and visits with the warmth of a parish that boasts the motto, "Feel the Spirit!" Please pray with me for this historic effort and consider your own generous decision.

Come to our Penance Service on Monday, April 14, at 7:30 PM,

"Let here be peace on earth and let it begin with me!"

    Rev. Gerry Creedon

    LENTEN EVENT NEIGHBORHOOD F

    EASTER FLOWERS
Donations and intentions are now being accepted for Easter Flowers. You may drop your donation, with the name of the persons you are remembering, in the collection basket during Mass or stop by the Parish Office. Please remember to mark your envelope "Easter Flowers". Thank you.

    BLESSING OF EASTER BASKETS
Please bring an Easter Basket to be blessed at the Masses on Easter Sunday! Create your own simple basket of good things such as bread, vegetables, fruit, butter, Easter candles, flowers, and, of course, EASTER EGGS - whatever you plan to have for your Easter meal. Children are welcome to bring the Easter baskets left by the Easter Bunny! You'll put them on the foot of the altar before Mass, and they'll be blessed by the celebrant before the close of Mass. Come join us in this lovely young St. Charles tradition!

    ADORATION OF THE BLESSED SACRAMENT
On Holy Thursday, the Blessed Sacrament will be in the Chapel until 10:00 PM, after the Mass of the Lord's Supper. Please come to pray and visit Our Lord.

    IN OUR PARISH

    MINISTRY/NEIGHBORHOOD NEWS
The St. Charles Parish Council is pleased to highlight several recent activities sponsored by parish ministries and neighborhoods.

    Community Life
¨ Our very active C'YA (Charles' Young Adults) Ministry undertook a number of outreach activities, including baking cookies for the Kairos prison ministry and collecting clothes for Suited for Change. The group also held a very successful Town Hall in March that brought together 50 participants to reflect on the growth and changes in C'YA over the last year and to solicit, through small group sessions, input to help plan future events.
¨ Peter Dirr, our Circle of Caring Coordinator, was invited to speak to the Parish Life Committee at a neighboring parish. The Committee members were interested in learning more about St. Charles' Circle of Caring Ministry and our neighborhood structure. They were impressed with the high level of parishioner participation in these activities.
    Hospitality
¨ Hospitality continued the well-received coffee and donut hour after Mass. Members also coordinated a reception with the Bishop following Confirmation and the highly successful St. Patrick's Day Party!
Thanks very much to our volunteers in all of our ministries and neighborhoods who do so much to build the Reign of God's love at St. Charles!
