Dear St. Charles Parishioners:
I thank all of you for listening last weekend to my presentation of
"Rooted
in faith ~ Forward in Hope" initiative. This campaign hopes
to raise $2.2 million dollars to support the completion of our community
center and other needed projects in the larger church community. With
3% of our households participating, we have already raised 35% of our
goal.
This weekend I seek the help of the entire parish in bringins this
project to a successful and early conclusion. Many hands make light
work. This challenge is one I cannot meet without your active support.
I invite you to volunteer to reach out to your fellow parishioners.
Please come to a meeting on April 30, at 7:30 in the Cafeteria, when
I will present the background of this campaign and an update on our
progress.

EUCHARISTIC MINISTERS VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES
The Eucharistic Ministry at St. Charles is currently recruiting new
extraordinary ministers of the eucharist. EMs assist in the distribution
of Holy Communion at all Masses, conduct two weekly communion services
at area retirement centers, and take communion to the sick and homebound
of the parish. New EMs must attend one of three upcoming diocesan workshops
and receive a mandate from the Office of Sacred Liturgy. If you would
like to volunteer or learn more about this very rewarding ministry,
please contact Brad Harrison at 703-522-3890 or baharrison@aol.com.
EASTER FLOWERS
Donations and intentions are now being accepted for Easter Flowers.
You may drop your donation, with the name of the persons you are remembering,
in the collection basket during Mass or stop by the Parish Office. Please
remember to mark your envelope "Easter Flowers". Thank you.
CHILDREN'S LITURGY OF THE WORD NEEDS PARENTS HELPERS!
Children's Liturgy of the Word needs more parent helpers to guide our
growing number of children safely to the Upper Room. A couple of parents
are also needed to remain in the Upper Room with the children during
the Liturgy of the Word to assist with any needs children may have.
The children are wonderful! However, we need additional adult presence
with the 40-50 children who attend Liturgy of the Word on a regular
basis. No sign-up is necessary. We invite you to come forward with your
child as you see the need as we gather at the altar. Thank you! Madely
Callaghan and Germaine Leahy.
