Dear St. Charles Parishioners:
March 1st we celebrate Carnaval at
St. Charles. This Mardi Gras Festival will support Haiti.
Our sister parishes in Cavaillon and Gros Marin will benefit from out
festivities. You can get tickets after the Masses or call Josephine
Lee 703-522-5320 or the Parish Office 703-527-5500. At the Saturday
Vigil Mass next week we will welcome a Haitian Choir and add Creole
songs to our worship.
Let us respond to our Pope's call for alternatives to war and prayers
for peace,
La Paix du Seigneur,
Peace,

CIRCLE OF CARING
Circle of Caring is always looking for service opportunities and new
members. Currently, the Group provides assistance, support, and visits
to the homebound and ill. We help plan. Funerals, and provide spiritual
healing for the dying. We transcribe Fr. Creedon homilies to the Church
website, and we even sing in St. Charles Chorale at nursing homes. We
do much more, and we're willing to consider other projects too. If you
have a need we might be able to help with, or you would like to volunteer,
please contact Peter Dirr at 703-237-0627 or pdirr@cox.net

SOCIAL JUSTICE NEWS
THE CHAP MISSION
A boy named Richard once walked the streets of Manila, abandoned, with
parents who had separated when he was a baby. He was met by a street
educator in 1996, encouraged toward a residential center where he became
a hard-working student, and is now in college computer courses at Far
Eastern University-East Asia. That educator worked for Childhope Asia
Philippines: this is where this week's tithe is going, a non-profit
NGO founded for streetkids in Manila, whose number is estimated to be
200,000. Our Philippine
Medical Mission supports CHAP's Junior Health Workers program, educating
kids in primary health care, first aid, and STDs. The PMM is grateful
for your contributions to this life saving work!
RESPECT LIFE MINISTRY
For all Bishops: that their love for the sheep whom the world has forgotten
might strengthen and form us; We pray to the Lord.
