St. Charles Bulletin for October
13, 2002
28th Sunday in Ordinary Time

Dear St. Charles Parishioners:
"Invite to the feast whomever you find!"
This weekend, you are urged to attend our Ministries
Fair. Learn about all of St. Charles services and how you may participate.
Join in our Octoberfest on Saturday
the 19th. Have a good time, meet your neighbors and support our school.
Thanks for your patience with parking. Volunteers are still needed to
direct traffic. Check George Mason parking on Kirkwood and Midas. Consider
car-pooling with neighbors. I met a Latino woman recently who does not
have a car and walks to church form Courthouse every Sunday. Even if you
have a car, consider walking to Church and turn Sunday into a time of
pilgrimage.
Come join me for the first "Conversations with Creedon" after
the 6 PM Mass on October the 20th in the Chapel. We will discuss the proposal
on Iraq in the light of Just War Principles.
The Pope has called for Rosaries for Peace during Mary's month of October.
Peace,
CONVERSATIONS WITH CREEDON
Our series of informal dialogues with Father Gerry continues on October
20th following the 6:00 PM Mass. The topic is "Reflections on the
Response to Iraq in Light of the Just-War Tradition." Background
can be found on the parish web site. Come Join Us!
Please remember that on October 27, 2002 we go back to Eastern Standard
Time. Remember to turn your clocks back one hour!
PLEASE NOTE: The Parish Office will be closed on Monday, October 14th,
in Observance of Columbus Day.
WE NEED YOUR HELP
As you can see, our construction efforts have begun! The fencing has been
placed around the circle entrance eliminating that entrance/exit to and
from the parking lot. The circle entrance to the Church has also been
closed; however, the doors on the Fairfax Drive side of the Church will
open for Mass. Please cooperate with our parking lot attendants and ushers
as they are trying to accommodate EVERYONE! We ask you for patience as
this effort continues. We are also asking for volunteers to help direct
traffic in the parking lot. Please call Marvin Mayorga at the Parish Office.
Thank you!
